My Mind's Eye " Lush " Kit

The My Mind's Eye "Lush" Kit that I have been working on is finished and ready to ship. This Kit is by far my favorite to date as it is full of wonderful goodies and the paper line is so nice. We have combined the Pink And Brown papers, added a touch of Blue, and went over the top with custom die cuts, and more. We add real crystals to our kit ,and you can sure tell because they really shine. Here is the video that shows all the items included in this kit. I could have added more and more, but we wanted to keep the price resonable. Happy Scrappin

Happy Friday!

I just love it when the UPS man shows up so early in the day. He brought our order from Notions and I am so excited. We stocked up on some of the new Tim Holtz Distress Inks, and the colors are simply to die for.. The names even make me smile.. Shabby Shutters, Rusty Hinge, Victorian Velvet, Stormy Sky... I vowed to do a video using these when they came in, but in my cyber searching I found this great video of Tim actually using them, so I figured you would probably rather watch him than me so I have added it here to the blog. I Love all the things you can do with these inks, and even Donna Downing use them on her Prima Show when she altered her camera bag...yup they work great on fabric as well as paper. We also have new Bling from Prima and Basic Grey, and Flowers from Petaloo too. Oh there is just so much that you will just have to go and look in the store under the what's new list to see it all. We just got notified that our Prima order has shipped and will arrive on Tuesday. We got as many of the paintables that were available, and it looks like a lot of their flowers are out of stock. We do have some of their wonderful lace arriving and I know you all are looking forward to that, I know both Barrie and I are!
I also received a box from Barrie Yesterday too, and she sent me all of the new Tim Holtz dies and I am chomping at the bit to play with them. I just didn't have time to even open them yesterday, but have it on the top of my to do list for today... right after I get the new kit finished up and ready to post... Your really going to love this one as it is using the New Lush Line from MME...(My Minds Eye).
I hope you all have a great Friday, A Wonderful Saturday, and A Sunday That is Full Of Blessings

I finally got a few minutes to add a comment on here. I am so thankful for Carol. She manages to keep you all informed and up to date on what's happening!

Well we finally got our Tim Holtz order in. It is so hard to order all this beautiful stuff at the CHA and then wait months and months to get it in...it is really torture. I took a few minutes to cut out the Bird Cage and sprayed it with the new Maya Road Mists. I haven't done anything to these pieces but give them a quick spritz and look how gorgeous they are. And they dry right away! I covered the little holes at the bottom of the cage with pearls and nail heads just to save time... but you can use the Garment Pins to hang charms or whatever to the bottom. You will have loads of fun with this die (or die cuts).
I have gone on so about the Bird Cage that I have completely neglected the other magnificent dies we got in. The Tattered Flowers are to "die" for and the Hanging Sign is so vintage!!! The Ticket strip is a "must have". Just think of all the fun things you could stamp on them. Make them up for your kids and have them redeem them for rewards or favors....Then the Lock and Key...oh that one is so yummy...I think I will cut that one next!
Carol has really been busy on the kits. The new MME kit promises to be a huge hit. She pull out all the stops for that one...wait till you see all the embellishments that she has packed into that kit! Not to mention that we use Swarovski crystals for our Bling...the sparkle is worth the extra!!! She will have it up shortly...you won't be disappointed.
This weekend I will try to post a quick box demo using the Martha Scoreboard. Oh ! How I love that thing...you will too when I show you how fast you can make a box. Carol already showed you and easy envelope...we'll have you turning out projects like a pro ...it just takes a quick practice and some basic guidelines and you can make a box or envelope to fit anything!!!
thanks for stopping by...Barrie
.

Sizzix Dies By "Tim Holtz" Are Here

I was on the phone with Barrie yesterday when the boxes arrived from Sizzix and as she opened the boxes and got her hands on these wonderful dies, she was giggling and ohhing and ahhhing and screetching all at the same time. I know we viewed these dies in January at CHA, but you know we are both over 50 now and so our memories have to be refreshed often. She loves them all, and I can not wait to get mine in the mail on Thursday. We have the Caged Bird, Hardware Findings, Gears, Tattered Flowers, Tickets, and the Hanging Sign. All but the tickets will be able to cut chipboard, and all the other great materials we can find. Sizzix really had a good showing, but why oh why do we have to wait for so long before they arrive? Can you tell that patience is not my strong point? Oh well, I guess I will just have to continue to play will the other new things I have, the Martha Scoreboard, The Maya Mists(these are yummy nummy) and my new silhouette downloads.

We seem to have only gotten a partial order of all of the dies, so they are very limited until we receive the remainder of them and who knows when that will be LOL!

Have a happy Tuesday and hope you can find something today that will make you want to do the happy dance !

Martha Stewart Scoreboard

Oh My! I am so happy to have gotten this wonderful tool and I have been playing with it since it arrived! I have never owned a scoreboard before now, but have had the chance to use the ScorPal in the past, and I must say, there are twice as many lines on the Martha then there are the ScorPal. Martha even went one step more and added the envelope guide to the kit along with the bone folder too! This really is a great little gadget, and of course we have them on our website. There are a couple of other nifty gadgets that Barrie has lead me to, well one is an adhesive, but the precision tip glue bottle is my new favorite thing to have at my side when I do any crafting. It's just the perfect size to hold in your hand, and you can really regulate how much glue you put down and where you want it to go. The adhesive that she sent me to try is the Scotch quick dry glue... and this stuff even works on holding my chipboard boxes together in less time that you would think. Anyway that's my take on a few new things we have, and if you have a review of something we offer please feel free to make a comment on it.
I hope you all have a great week end, and that the first day of spring brings with it a sense of renewal for each of you.

Another Craft Room Redo

The other day I happen to stop by our local Goodwill store and just as I thought I was done I noticed that two of the workers were rolling this huge cabinet out of the back. I followed them to ask if it had been sold and to my delight they said no! I had them take a measurement (It is about 8 foot long). My first thought was that it would be great for the hubbies new work shop he is building and he could store a ton of things in it. Well, needless to say I purchased it, and when I told hubbie about it, he said he really did not want something that big in his shop. Well, I quickly got out my measuring tape and took a measurement of the one open wall I had in my craft room....yippie skippie it would fit. So, hubbie and Brother-in-law, head down with a truck and screw guns to haul my find home and get it set up. Well it took me a couple of days to once again re-orginize, but I am done and I am loving it. I have a work counter that is the perfect height for standing and working, and when I am putting kits together it will be so much easier than using the crafting table and stooping over for hours. Needless to say, I have once again been banned from the second hand stores, and if I do go, what ever I buy has to fit in a plastic shopping bag :-)

Good Luck

Well, Monday we draw for the Tim Holtz Die.. Good luck to each of you and thank you for joining our blog, we are glad your following us.

We just got in some of the great colors of smooch, and if you not sure what it is, it's a glimmer paint in a bottle with a really fine tip,

I really love the way it looks and it is so great for all those small areas that we have when we do some stamping. I have a great window card stamp that has hardly been used as I just could never find the right thing to use for color until now! I have also loved highlighting my flowers, tags and so much more with these.
Here is a tag that I whipped up this afternoon so you could see a sample of the fine detail that you can us them for. There are some really great colors, and you can find them in the store starting next week.

I hope everyone remembered to spring forward with their clocks, and I know we will be enjoying the extra hour of daylight that we get. Happy Crafting !

A Good Laugh Will cure anything..

Barrie sent me this today and I thought I was going to wet my pants I was laughing so hard. I hope you enjoy it because I just had to share.

Yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of Purina dog
chow for my loyal pet Charlie, the Wonder Dog and was in the checkout line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired and have
little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I
was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably
shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that
I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward
with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that
it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply
eat one or two every time you feel hungry.

The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again.
(I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled
with my story.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog
food poisoned me.

I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter and a
car hit us both. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a
heart attack he was laughing so hard.

Costco won't let me shop there anymore.

4 DAYS

We are so excited to be drawing near to the Die Give Away and we want to wish you each good luck. Barrie is getting her nails done so they look good on camera when she pulls the lucky name, and I am glad no one has to work on my nails right now as they would probably send me away as a lost cause.

The Count Down Begins

We only have 6 days left until we find out who the lucky winner is of the Tim Holtz Autographed die!! Barrie has been keeping track of all the names that are being entered and we have decided that between now and the 15th, anyone who makes a store purchase will have their name entered again. You can make as many purchases as you would like and each time your name will be added!! Barrie will be doing the drawing on the 15th and she will be doing it on a you-tube video and we will post that video here on the blog.
Now, we are working on our next give away and we would like your in put as to what your interest would be. Do you want kits, dies, grab bags, store gift certificates??? Let us know what floats your boat and we will set our sails in that direction.
I am adding a new kit to the store today, and it is a huge kit using the Peachy Keen Line from Kaiser Crafts. We love making our kits, as they are so different from those we have seen for sale in other places. We take the time to hand cut dies, stamp on tags, punch out borders, hand pick our elements that go into the kits, and we add real Crystals to our kits for that added shine!
This cute little bird house is what I made with parts of the new kit(no we don't carry the bird house, but you can probably find one at your local craft store). I have had the bird house sitting on the shelf or a while now, and these papers just seem to scream at me use on it. I love the fact that so many of the supplies we have can be used not only for scrapbooking but for home decor crafts as well

So I hope you have a Tweet Day and that you do something that makes you want to sing like a bird!!

New Friends

As our little community grows I am amazed at the wide variety of paper crafters. Many of our new friends are professional women. Many are moms....but there is one new friend that I want to take the time to mention because I want all of you to know this remarkable woman. Some (or most)of you may know her...she goes by "Junebugpins". Her real name is Melissa and she is a military wife and mom. Melissa's husband and two sons are in Iraq. Can you even imagine the heart and soul this woman possesses? I have not stopped thinking about her since I first met her about a month ago. To talk with her is a sheer joy. She is so lively and cheerful. Just an all 'round sweet person.

The reason I wanted to mention Melissa is ...her husband is returning home from his tour in Iraq on the 17th of this month and I want to wish her the happiest reunion with her husband . I hope you can all take just a few seconds to wish them total bliss while he is home. I also want to ask you to take a moment and say a little prayer of thanks for the incredible sacrifices she and her family have made so that we can snuggle comfortably in our beds at night and enjoy the freedom that is America.

Thank you Melissa....thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so proud to have met you . Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

12 days !

Ok there are only 12 days left until we do our Tim Holtz Die Drawaing... Are you ready? If you win, will you open the die and use it, will you display it or will you do a bit of both? (use the die and display the signed box). Post a comment and let us know what kind of a home this die will find with you...

I have visited some of your blogs and I have to say you are all so very creative. I hope you will post some of your finished projects here so we can all oooh and ahhh over them. Sharing is what we love best.

I received a box from Barrie yesterday with some of the new bigz dies and my oh my are they cute. The Bird house is big and is just the perfect element for the new kits I am working on.

Can't you just picture this on the front of a mini album decorated with bling, flowers and so much more. Oh, how I would love 12 hours more scrapbooking time in a day!
I also love love love this new flower layers #5 die, and can't wait to cut it out and make flowers with it for the bird house!

The Flourishes that came in are really big too! The nicest thing about these bigz dies is that they can cut so many materials like chipboard, fabric, acrylic ect. Oh my, I better just go and see what they can do.

Oh, we did add sheets of chipboard and acrylic to the web store. This is the best quality chipboard I have found and it really handles all of the mists, paints, and inks well. The Acrylic is pretty thick, and it is what I used to make the buttons in my video. Stamping on this with StaZon Ink is wonderful too. I do cut both with my paper trimmer, but I have saved a dull blade to use on the thick items, and then I use an emery board to soften the edges after it is cut.

So Happy Scrapping and I am headed to my room... to play.

March Already

Wow, I looked at the calendar this morning and it really is March 1st today. I really do love this time of year, as it means that winter is moving along, and spring is just around the corner. I am amazed at how many of our trees are in full bloom here in Washington, and we are even seeing daffodils peeking their heads out too. We are just south of one of the largest tulip growing area in the world and when they are in bloom it is spectacular. This year they are thinking that they will be in bloom 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule for the Tulip Festival. We do manage to go up each year and visit the fields, buy three or 4 bunches for the house, and get some great pictures. The colors are wonderful and once I leave there I am once again renewed and have so many color ideas bouncing in my brain.. What is it that helps you with color inspiration. Do you see it in nature, billboards, magazine ads, other peoples lay outs?

This layout was inspired by an ad that was in one of my home decor magazines and it was more of the colors used than the layout. I don't know about you, but everything I do seems to generate back to scrapbooking!! Even my nachos last night got me to thinking of all the things that you can layer in a mini book LOL !!
Hope you have a wonderful day and that March begins with a smile, and ends with a belly laugh!
Carol
