Happy Tuesday Ya'll

I just checked the calendar and Yup... it is July 20th... where in the heck did this month go? I hate to mention this, but we are 5 months and 5 days away from Christmas!! (do not shoot the messenger) I don't know about you, but it is time that I started thinking about what I am going to make all of the Ladies in my family this year for gifts. I am leaning toward making them all note pad holders with the Sizzix die that I have. We have them cut out and in the store and I really think that it would be a great gift for all of them.

These are some that I made and sent out for Craft It Forward and the ladies that received them were in love with them. These are the note book pockets. They hold a small note pad and would easily fit into a purse, or even into the glove compartment of the car. I used the Kaiser Craft Blush Papers on these, which are some of my favorites with their wonderful colors and patterns.

The Kits we have in the store come with three note book pockets, three memo holders, and three business card boxes (which are the perfect size for a gift card too). They are so easy to cover and decorate that I may even do all three for each of them !! We have cut them out of Medium weight, acid free chipboard so they will be very sturdy and last a long long time.

The memo holder is even a great little mini book size too !!

So on another note, we have been busy busy busy with the store as we have teamed up with an awesome crafter that takes creativity to a whole new level. Laura Dennison is amazing and her mini books are to die for. She designs her patterns for each book and then comes up with the most amazing ways to bind them. She airs her live shows on Fridays at 7pm through U-Stream and we have added the direct link at the top of our blog . Not only are the shows great to watch, but the live chat is so much fun that we sometimes have to go back and watch the recording to see what we missed while we were chatting !!  We are working with her to make sure we have the items in our store that she gets asked so often where to find, and to provide a great service to her viewers as well. This week she is making a Watch me grow chart that is so cute !! She does have the kits for sale on her Etsy site too, just click on her name above to visit her blog for more details !!

The last and final thing for this Tuesday is that we are the featured sponsor for Donna Downey.
Check out her blog to see what she is saying about us, and also be sure to check out all her wonderful posts as she is one very talented and creative lady !!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday and that you find at least one thing this week that will make you laugh till you cry !!!

Another Green Project

Oh Boy! We have another submission for the Re-use Challenge. This one is submitted by Jodi aka "One Happy Woman". I just love her ID. For this project Jodi took a box that I had shipped he order in and re-vamped it to use as a "tool" box for her desk. I can't believe the transformation. What do you think?

Jodi used paper from DCWV "All Dressed Up", lace from our store, stamp from Inkadinkadoo Set "Flourishes" ,TH Distress Ink Fired Brick, Stampology Onyx ink pad, Prima E line Pearls and Crystals,
hand made paper red roses w/Stickles "Frosted lace", Prima leaves,
beaded stem (AC Moore) and green Spool'o Ribbon

Pretty amazing transformation wouldn't you say??
There is still time to get your project into us before we draw a winner....and you know we give goo prizes! So get your pictures in to us as soon as possible. Carol is anxious to put up a new challenge.

Have a great weekend y'all....
Little Later,

Altered Clip Board

I was visiting my mom on Sunday and noticed that an altered clip board that I had made her was really in need of some repairs, plus it was just down right ugly. The picture is the last one of her with all of us kids and it is very special to her. I felt like the display was lacking for a picture she cherishes so much.

I didn't take a before picture, which I wish I had, but I did get one of it finished and ready to go back to her house and onto the nail that has held it for years. I actually started all over, using a new clipboard (Walmart) Madeline paper from K&Co, Lace from Barrie, Prima Flowers, Prima Say It In Crystals, Generic Ribbon, Petaloo Leaves sprayed with Maya Mist, a Petaloo Color Me Crazy Flower cut and sprayed for the small leaves. and some Ranger Stickles on the small Prima Flowers.
I think she will like this one much better, and the colors match the room she hangs it in !!

I forgot how much I love decorating these clipboards. I have one that has a perpetual calendar around here somewhere that I need to do some updating on as well. What is it that you have that you feel needs some updating, redoing, or just made? Show us your stuff !!

Mini Album From Stephanie Bean

Good Saturday morning to you !! We have had some really warm temps here in Washington and we are delighted that it will cool off a bit for the week end. We are not made for those temps that reach the 90's.
We have done some updating on the blog... new background, new blinkie, new header....what do you think?
There is only a few days left for you to join us in our Renew Challenge and then we will be posting a new challenge. So, if you have a project for this that is underway (Barrie this means you too) Then get it done and send us the photos so we can add it to the blog. One of you will be chosen for the challenge Prize !!

So here is a great album that Stephanie made with products from our store!!

Stephanie created this album using our Mix & Match album along with the papers from the
Que Sera Sera Paper Pack from K&Company!! She did an awesome job and details are added in case you want to know how things were made. Thanks Stephanie!! We love it !

It was so much fun to create this mini. I love this Que Sera Sera paper! I used the mix & match chipboard book as the base for the mini. On the cover, I covered the butterfly, the keyhole and the binding with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint. Instead of using the Tim Holtz On The Edge die cuts for their traditional use, I used them as small pages inside the mini. I covered them in acrylic paint and wrote on them in white pen. I used the Rock Candy on the Sizzix birdhouse and covered the the bird in the Que Sera Sera pattern paper. Throughout the mini, I used the Super Scallop Crescent Tags and Sizzix Frame Back Ornate # 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7, the Petaloo Color Me Crazy flowers that I misted with Glimmer Mist and the Sizzix 3d flower die.

Renew & Reuse from Brenda

I am amazed at all the items that our friends and followers have used to create something new, and this one is no exception. Brenda took a large piece of cardboard and created a wonderful piece of art with it. She has been inspired by watching some of the Donna Downey Videos and I think she really did a great job. I would have never guessed that this was cardboard in the beginning !!!

Here in her own words is what she did to create this masterpiece!!!

I used Claudine Hellmuth’s Studio paints by Ranger and first covered the cardboard in 2 coats of gesso and then painted a simple design. While the design was still a little wet, I took a spray bottle and sprayed it to help some of it drip and run. Then, with more paint and water, I made the paints drip all over the cardboard. After all was dry, I took black paint and painted on the word “Inspire.”

What do you see when you see a chunk of cardboard, an empty bottle, an empty Velveeta box???
Join us in this fun challenge and let us see what it is that you take from trash to treasure !!!
Have a great Hump day, and keep your eyes open for the possibility of anything !

Half a Year Down The Drain.....

Well everyone...the first half of 2010 is officially in the books. Can you believe it's almost time to think about Thanksgiving and Christmas again....whew...where does time go?
I hope everyone had a marvelous holiday weekend. I certainly did. I got to play...which is something I rarely get to do. On Friday I actually got to tune in to a class on UStream that I had been looking forward to all week. Laura Dennison teaches and I like the things she does...she is so talented.

We have an ad posting on Donna Downey's site in a few days. We are so excited about this. Donna is such a sweetheart and we feel truly blessed to be able to hook up with her. It should expand our viewers and hopefully add more talented ladies to our growing family. We needed a new "button" to live on Donna's blog so we contacted our web lady Bev. She is one amazingly creative gal. Some of the stuff she comes up with literally stops me in my tracks. And it is so easy for her....Anyway she is making an animated button for us...and we are anxiously awaiting it's completion. Hope it is as cute as we're thinking it will be.

Here is the mini album I made this weekend. It's called Sunburst Mini. This is one of Laura's original designs. As soon as I saw the one she made I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the design. You can see how it just "bursts" open with accordion pockets and roomy tags. I used the "Que Sera" by K&;Co. That paper is so bright and cheery. I also used a Martha Stewart punch "Chrysanthemum" and a few BossKut flower dies for the tag toppers. Besides some glue and some tape that is about all the supplies I needed for the whole album....oh yeah...I used a few bling things...

If I could have worked without interruption I could have finished this in a few hours...but it took me two days  because I couldn't find a solid chunk of time to work Let me know what ya think!

I also started a "Green" project for Carol's last challenge. I'm trying to finish that one too. I know Carol is waiting to offer up a new challenge so I'd better get crackin'!

Have some fun in the sun,
      Aloha,
            Barrie

Happy Inedependance Day

Wow can you believe the 4th of July is upon us already.. I swear yesterday we were ringing in the New Year. There have been some great things that have happened so far this year at Scrapadabadoo and we are excited to see what the rest of the year will bring. We are busy stocking the store with great things as we were personally invited to advertise with Donna Downey on her Blog!!! We are delighted to have been hand picked and felt like this would really help with the exposure of the Store. We will be busy busy girls once the orders start rolling in and we just can not wait. We are working on a couple of other avenues and are praying that they work out for us as well.
I apologize for not posting much lately but we took on a side job of renovating the upper unit of a duplex for a friend of ours, and the darn thing has swallowed me whole!! We didn't realize the extent of the work that needed to be done, and of course you have to do ten things to get to the one thing that you needed to do. I guess it is just that way with older homes, not to mention that the renters were not kind to the place and left it in shambles. Then of all things, I woke up on Wednesday and my back had gone south. I am hardly able to move and boy oh boy do I hurt!!! Guess that's Gods way of telling me I need a break !!
But onto better things. Barrie got the new charms in, and we have posted two different sets of them on the website. They are really nice and they are already going fast.

She is working on getting new pictures taken of the exquisite new lace that arrived from Pakistan and let me tell you it is to die for. The quality of the lace is way better than any we have found before and we will continue to order more of this as we can find it in the larger quantities. I am so glad that Barrie spends the time she does finding these kinds of products for us to offer you. It's not easy finding the best of the best that is out there, but Barrie manages to keep us well stocked in beautiful things.
We hope you all have a safe and happy 4th and don't forget to Thank Our Military Personal for their Dedication & Services that keeps us Free and Safe!!!
