Instructions For Margaret Ann's Wee Book For Holding Our Thank You cards

A few weeks back I posted pictures of a darling little mini that Margaret Ann (aka heavenlymam on the chat) made to hold and display all of the Thank You cards Carol makes and puts in every order that goes out.. This little book is fast and easy ...and you can make four pages at once by folding 1 sheet of paper. The pockets are the perfect size to hold one of our little Thank You cards.
Margaret Ann uses a A4 size paper in her instructions A4 = 8.25 x11.75. I used standard 8.5 x 11 and eliminated the fold at the top and it turned out nicely as well

I will post the instructions from Margaret Ann below and after that I will show you pics of what I did and the slight changes to the instructions.

Have fun and let us see what you come up with....

Margaret Ann used an A4 size paper...double or single - sided
Score at 2 3/8" from each end (landscape)

Fold corners into just short of score line. Don't fold all the way to score line...leave a little room so
it will fold easily along score.

Fold flaps in and turn piece over

Fold up 1/4" from each end. You can score first for easier folding
Fold bottom edge up to top and insert corners into the little corner pockets

Fold in half ...L to R. She folded the side with the corner pockets to the inside.  It makes 4 side with 1pocket each
Make as you need , punch holes with Crop-a-dile and tie with ribbon .

I made this one with double sided paper cut to 8.5 x 11"
I followed the first two steps but omitted the 1/4" fold on each end and put Scor Tape along the top and side edges on one of the back sides...one of the kittens helped.
I folded the bottom up and then folded L to R **Fold first then carefully remove the tape backing from top first-starting at center crease. Keeping piece folded...slowly ease pieces together as you remove the backing. This will allow paper to shift as you are folding and it will lay flat. This step is a little tricky but do not stick it together before you fold it. If you do you will have a lot of bulk in the middle that won't lay flat and neatly.
As you can see I eliminated the top 1/4" fold. I used a double-sided paper that is thicker than the single sided that Margaret Ann used  and it made the 1/4" fold and corner pockets very bulky and uneven looking. It works great with thinner papers. I would not recommend heavy cardstock.
Give Margaret Ann a big THANKS for this easy to make, nifty little book that, as you can see, holds our Thank You cards perfectly. AND...a BIG HUG to Carol for sharing her talent (and love) with us all.

Try this quick and easy project and send us a picture of yours. You could make a cute mini for someone in an hour. Put a few favorite picture or mementos and someone will love you for it.

Have fun,
Barrie & Carol

National Scrapbook Day Fun

As most scrappers and paper crafters know ...today is a big day in the industry. Lots of sales ...lots of projects and most of all...lots of fun!

Along with both shows today...Laura from "Follow The Paper Trail" and Kathryn of "The Scrapbeach". You can click on their highlighted titles here and go directly to their blogs to get show times and links to the UStream shows. Laura will start at 10am PDT and Kath will follow right after at 12noon PDT and go until about 5pm. So it will be a whole day of paper, ink and adhesives. Please join us!

Also for the day's celebration we at Scrapadabadoo have put some special products on sale for you all to take advantage of. This is not clearance merchandise...it is all current and popular stuff that we thought you might enjoy. So come on in and snoop around. To see the day's specials ...go to the first category on the left side in the store marked  "NSD Specials".

In other news...we have the first shipment of the new Limited Edition Spring Inks coming in on Monday. We also have the reinkers for these sets plus the Fall and Winter sets as well. So grab the reinkers while they are available. You never know what Ranger is thinking so I wouldn't trust them to keep the reinkers around.
As far as the Markers...well...we have them and that is all I have to say on that subject!
Many of you have been asking for Charm Packs. I will try to get those up for you this week. I will also have a new pack in about a month...so be careful what you ask for...hahaha!

Carol and I are very excited over the Tea Time dies that Joanne from Scrapping Cottage has put out. I worked with her to try and get the look I wanted to see in the tea sets and I think she and her crew did a marvelous job. All the other "tea sets" available looked the same. I asked her if she could make it more classy and elegant...I think they did just that! And as soon as those dies came out...BoBunny released their mid-season collections and the "Little Miss" line couldn't go better with these dies...so hang on and see what one or both of our beautiful and talented show hosts do with some of these! We can't wait!

So many of you wonderful ladies ( and gents) send us such lovely comments about the little "Thank You" cards that Carol makes to put in every package that goes out from the store. A few of you have even made little minis to hold the cards. Well Margaret Ann aka "heavenlymam" on the show chat has an adorable little book that holds the cards. Margaret Ann says that one sheet of A4 paper will make 4 pockets and in her book she has made 20 pockets...just shows how much she orders from us!!!

I promise I will post the instructions as soon as I figure out how to convert the file that was sent to us.
I will try to do that this weekend...I'm afraid Carol will have to help me with this one. I get a little lost when it comes to posting some of the things customers send us. So check back and get the instructions.

Well...I am off to bed. Laura will be calling to get my butt in gear way before I am ready in the morning!! We hope to see lots of you tomorrow and for those of you that can't make it to the shows...they will be recorded so you can watch later...BUT...the NSD Specials in the store are only good till they run out or till the end of National Scrapbook Day. So don't miss out.

'nite all,
Barrie & Carol
