Brenda's Mini Book

One of our favorite scrappers sent us her mini book project that she made using items from our store. We Love to share your projects with our readers, so let us share yours too!!!

For this mini I used the paper collection, Country Grove Meadow and the 3 tab chipboard album I received from Barrie and Carol at Scrapadabadoo.com. The bird cage and bird is Tim Holtz Sizzix die that I glimmer misted with Black Magic by Tattered Angels. The lace is from Scrapadabadoo.com and the flowers and leaves are from a silk flower arrangement I dismantled. The letters are Prima Alphabets.

The flowers were made with the Sizzix 3D flower die (LOVE IT) and I picked a textured paper scrap I had and love how they turned out. The tags are small shipping tags I picked up at my local Staples and are misted with TA Wheat Fields, Old Lace and Olive vine. Stamped with brown Stazon.

The black velvet voila is from Prima, foam stamps embossed with Tim Holtz distress, vintage photo. I added a little bling to the voila to give it that extra sparkle!

Lace is from Scrapadabadoo.com and flowers are Prima E-series, glimmer misted with Tattered Angels Old Lace, Olive Vine and Wheat Fields. (the colors just really blended well with this paper collection!)

Chipboard cut out from Scrapadabadoo, painted with Claudine Hellmuth Studio paint. Flowers are Petaloo Color Me Crazy, painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist, suede and old lace and edged with black magic.
This flower is one of my favorites! Another of the Petaloo Color Me Crazy flowers, I glimmer misted it with TA Old Lace and then painted with Suede to give it a more dimensional look. The brads are the same as the paper collection and the ribbon is by Making Memories and the dragonfly charm is by Blue Moon.

A very busy page Pockets for tags are some older Sizzix dies that Barrie Cut out and Sent with my package. Flower is from the Petaloo Color Me Crazy and again misted by TA with wheat fields and edged out with olive vine. Lace voila by Prima and Say It In Pearls is also by Prima.

I love this little lace heart that Barrie had sent and knew it would just *work* on a project and it worked perfectly for this one!

The Back of the book..... Gotta love a Mini as you do see it finished up!!!

3D Flower Die

Hi Everybody!

This is just a little "news flash" on the Sizzix 3D Flower Die. Sizzix only receive a very small amount in the last shipment and they allocated every vendor a small quantity. Now here's the news....that is all there is for quite a while. They have run into manufacturing time issues. Apparently the die is so intricate that it takes a long time to make each one. So....it will be months before there is another shipment. This is also the case for the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals ...it will be months before those are back in stock as well. So if you want one of the 3D's ...grab it while they are available!

Barrie

What's in a Bag?

I had the little girl that lives behind me ask me to make her a gift bag for a party she was going to this weekend. I was a "tween" birthday party and she had some jewelry and hair accessories for the gift so my bag dies would cut the perfect size bag. Once I got started ...I got carried away! I wound up keeping this one and made another one for her.

I am of the belief that "too much is never enough". It's hard for me to do something simple. When I got this bag done and showed it to my hubby...he said..."It looks like your store front". I think he's right...

The 3D Flowers came in and they are almost gone. If you want one of these dies you better grab it because they allocated every vendor and when they're gone nobody knows when they will be back. I really think this is my all time favorite die. It is so versatile....I'm always trying to see what I can cut next!

The Flower Layers #5 is back in...the one for the Tim Holtz Rose...Yipee!!! I love that one too. I think I just love flowers...period. That is another fun die to experiment with different materials. See what you can come up with.

I think I am going to go dive into the new BoBunny paper and goodies that Carol just sent my way. Gosh are these gorgeous. I can hardly make up my mind. I know Carol really likes the Petal Pushers....me...I really love the Peacock Lane. Purple and turquoise just make me all warm and fuzzy....but then again...the Jazmyne is so rich and beautiful....oh I just have to see what "speaks" to me...

Have a wonderful weekend and if you make something you want to show off...please send us a picture so we can post it for everyone to see. I get bored looking at my own stuff...heeheeheee!

Toodle-oooo,
Barrie

BoBunny Jasmine Papers

We received the three BoBunny paper lines that we ordered and I have been having a really hard time deciding on which one I must use first. I love the Petal Pushers....I mean I love it... Adore the Peacock Lane, it is so beautiful, but the one I chose to use was the Jasmine... I had some really cute pictures of my granddaughter in her Kindergarten graduation dress, and the Jasmine line just seem to be the one that would make the best layout with them. I love the papers as you really do not have to do a lot of embellishing with it, but of course I love embellishments so .........

I added some Petaloo color me crazy flowers, sprayed with Maya Mist, Amethyst, and Lime, Added one of the Brads that match the papers, then cut one of the flowers down to look like leaves, sprayed them with the Lime Maya Mist and added some Prima E-line pearls in various places. The alphabet is some old American Craft Thickers that I had, and I painted them with the Lime Maya Mist too. I love that the paper is already glittery and is so beautiful to work with, and it even had lines on it so that my journaling was straight !!!

Next I will have to use the other two, so check back soon to see what I can manage to do with them !!!
Hope your all having a great beginning to your summer !!
Blessings Carol

One More Renew And Reuse From Sarah Elliot

What a wonderful gift Idea!! Thanks for sharing this with us Sarah !!

A great use for a couple of Sauce Jars that were otherwise heading to the recycle.
I picked 2 that were the same shape, size, (company) but had different lid colors

Back and Front of Jars

These are the finished Jars:
I put a layer of Mulberry Paper, topped with a strip of pattern paper around each one.
Stamped, Heat Embossed and Marker-Colored the images, tore them and inked the edges before attaching to the Thank-You Jars.
Tags say 'Happy Father's Day! 2010'
Thank-You Tag also ripped out and inked, over Mulberry Paper for the Lids.

Inside the Jars:

Printed out 'Notes' from each of the Boyz.
Each boy told me 5 things for each Greg & Grandpa that they loved or were thankful for.
They were a hit!

Hi Y'all,
I know I don't post often...but when I do I try to make it something special. This time it is a biggie!

As some of you may know the Sizzix 3D Flowers have been out of stock for quite a while....Well ...to quote Carol..."Yippie Skippy !" They are back in and due to arrive any day now...BUT!!!! They are allocating every retailer and the dies will be very hard to get. I have already wait listed half of what we were allotted so if you want one of these  wonderful dies please email us and I will add you to the waitlist  and you will be guaranteed to get one.

I have been playing with different materials to cut these flowers. For Carol's latest challenge...the "Going Green"...I used an old pair of blue jeans my friend's kids were throwing out. Little girl's jeans have the cutest embellishments...I have just discovered....and my head is spinning with ideas. Anyway ...I cut the flowers from the denim and brushed them with watered down Modge Podge and then edged with some Stickles...then I rolled them up....I think they turned out great!

I hope to get my project finished over the weekend and get it posted. I can't wait to see what some of you have come up with. I loved what Carol did and then Steph really got me thinking. I always see treasure in trash...and apparently you all do too! Come on ladies.....let's see what treasures you can pull out of  the bottom of a closet or a junk drawer.

I hope you all have a happy relaxing Father's Day. I know I am fixing my dad his favorite dinner...grilled tri-tip, baked potato and fresh green beans....nothing fancy but so yummy!

Sizzix Flower Layers Die

We ordered the Sizzix Flower layers #5 (Tim Holtz Grunge Rose Die) so long ago that we almost had forgotten about it, but lo and behold, the FedEx Guy (my second favorite delivery man) dropped this box and it was greatly appreciated !!! I have spent the last few hours searching for just the right video tutorial for making the rose and ended up finding the original tutorial on Tim Holtz's blog. Here is the link and we do have the die in stock, but for how long... who knows...
http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/12/12-tags-of-christmasday-12.html

We also receive some of our BoBunny order and I have to tell you that I was having a hard time getting the papers into the packages because all I wanted to do is take the paper and play. I am the original flower girl so the Petal Pushers papers were making me go crazy, and I am sure when I send the Peacock Lane to Barrie we will here her squeal all the way here to the main land.... purples and teals we do that to her ya know. Anyway, we have the papers and embellishments in the store, I still need to add the coordinating double dot papers, but will work on that in the morning when I can better concentrate!
Hope your all having a good week and that your planning something fun for your fathers day week end.
Make sure to take your camera what ever it is you do!!!
Blessings and Giggles

Renew & Reuse From Stephanie

Stephanie did an amazing job turning her recycled item into a useful storage item.

Just wanted to share my going green project with you guys. I used a Velvetta cheese box and turned it into a Glimmer Mist holder. This holder will fit 16 bottles of Glimmer Mist. I glued the top and bottom pieces of the box together with hot glue and used card stock to make the dividers. I decorated the box with Basic Grey paper and flowers from the Sizzix 3d flower die I purchased from your eBay store. Hope you guys like it!

What beautiful box this turned into and it is such a wonderful Idea too !!! I know that most of us have a hard time finding things to store our growing collection of Mists in. Thanks for sharing with us!!!

Who else is working on their projects????

Future Crafter

Today has been a wonderful day spent with my fun loving granddaughter.  She Graduated from  Kindergarten yesterday and is so excited to be going into the first grade and being able to ride the bus to school in the fall.  She had to wear her princess graduation dress over so I could see her in it and of course I had to snap some pictures.  I think she loves the camera as much as I do, she likes to be snapped and I love to do the snappin !!

We also have the love of crafts that we share, and she is so excited when she can come and stay alone, because she knows that is when I will let her have and do what ever she wants with any of my craft supplies. Today I cut out a new Sizzix box die and she spent hours stamping, painting, blinging, and decorating that box. For being only 6, she really has a respect for my tools, and takes very good care of the stamps, the brushes, and even wipes down the table between paint colors. She has already asked me when she can come again and what we will make next time !!!

Do your kids love to play in your scrapbooking, crafting supplies ? We would love to have you share their creations with us !!!

Going Green

I have finished my going green project and I must say it turned out better than I thought it would. I started out with an empty Sizzix Bigz Die Container
and turned it into a container to hold all of the shipping receipts that I need to send on to Barrie at the end of the year.

I cut the top of the box off and then cut out a finger tab in the center. I used a K& Company paper from the Madeline Paper pack, cut it to fit the front. The lace is from Barrie and it and the  Petaloo Color Me Crazy leaves,  are  both sprayed with the Olive Vine Glimmer mist. I cut out 3 of the Sizzix 3D flowers from the K&Co paper, added some stickles, frosted lace, and then tinted it with the kiwi Smooch. The butterfly is one of the Color Me Crazy ones, and it is sprayed with Pink Grapefruit Maya Mist, and then highlighted with the Kiwi Smooch. The pearls are string pearls that I have had for eons, and the brad is Autumn Leaves Scrap metal. I added a piece of lime web ribbon ( on sale soon) behind the butterfly and the spray of pearls is off of a craft item that I got from goodwill and tore apart for the goodies it had on it.  I added some grommets to the sides and then sheer ribbon for the hanger.

I now have a beautiful place to keep unsightly paper receipts that were out of control in my junk basket.

You can find almost all of these products for sale in our store!!
Your turn !!

What's New At Scrapadabadoo ?

I am so excited for the up coming month as we have a lot of good things happening for us and our store. We have been hand selected to advertise with a major crafter... one of a select few (we will indulge more later on the who)... but we are gearing up to be able to have more items available in the store as we know the ad will help out our sales and visibility. We really are blessed to be able to do this, and to know that they found us, due to our facebook post, our blog and our wonderful website. Kudos to us.
We have a different outlook on our store and the people who shop with us as some of our customers have already found out. We not only want to provide fun and unique items, but we also want to provide a one of a kind service so that our customers know they are valued, and that we love to go the extra mile for them. Most of our orders are shipped the same day, and if we have over estimated our shipping we promptly refund the difference. We also love to send extra little goodies in each package too!!  We want our customers to become our friends and to have a great experience with us in our store, on our blog and with our facebook posts. We love to get your feed back, and if you are having a hard time finding any product, please let us know and we will do everything possible to bring that in for you. We love special orders, and if you have a special occasion that you need bulk items for... we can do that too.

We just got in the Tim Holtz  Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint, and the crackle accents and we are anxious to be able to use them. We found this great video that Tim did at last years summer CHA using the crackle paint.. he is just way too talented and I love his techniques.  We have a lot of other new stuff in the store as well, and  some of the new Bo Bunny items are on the way. We really like the Imaginisce love & cherish line that just arrived, and the K&Co paper pads have been a big hit so far.

So are you planning your going green project? I have mine started and it amazes me how I can see something in my mind, but when I get started on it, it turns out so different than what I visualized, is that good or bad, sometimes both LOL..

Have a good week end, and challenge yourself to do one random act of kindness in the up coming week

We are going green

After talking with Barrie and receiving a couple of e-mails with ideas of what we can do for our next challenge, we have decided to go green. This challenge is to focus on reusing something that would otherwise be thrown out, donated, or recycled. Some of the things you could use would be empty Jars, boxes, bags, newspapers, craft item packaging, coffee cans etc. .....You need to use this item as the main part of your project, and you can use more than one item if you so choose. We would like you to take pictures of the item before you start and then again after you finish. Please send us a list of all items you used, what the product was before you started, and then what it will be used for when it is finished. We also want to know which products that were used were purchased from our store.  Our last challenge was a great success and everyone who participated was sent a small goodie box. We love seeing the different style of all our friends, and hope you can join us in this and have fun along the way.  I have a few acrylic boxes that held sizzix dies, and I am going to use these items for my project. What will you use? Put on your creative caps and start your hunt for the perfect piece of garbage to make into a gem!!!
Happy Wednesday and if you know where the sun shine has gone, can you please direct it back this way as we are still wallowing in the rain here in Washington.
Toodles Carol
