Ok..this is ridiculous!

We sure don't mean to ignore the blog for so long but there are only so many hours in a day. We all wish we didn't need the 4 hours of sleep we manage to sneak in but it happens whether we like it or not.
Well...We want to start feeding this puppy so it grows. We have asked Dawn Edwards
to help us with some fun projects and designs for you all to try
and hopefully gain some inspiration. I don't know how many of you are familiar
with Dawn's work ...but she is awesome.
You can check out some of her beautiful creations at
Very soon she will be putting up some of her projects here.
We will be giving step by step instructions and pictures
for those of you that want to try them yourselves.

We also have some of the tips we share on Kathryn's and Laura's shows
that some of you may have missed so we
will post them here so you can refer back to them whenever you feel the need

So ..please keep checking back and we will have all kinds of fun for everyone.
Tomorrow I will post some  updated Kitty pictures.
They are really grown up and so sweet.

I hope you get a giggle out of this...I was crying I was laughing so hard....
This was sent to me by our dear friend Texie Nfong
Thanks Texie!

FOR ALL THE MEN IN OUR LIVES WHO ASK,
"WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG IN THE RESTROOM?

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find
a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place.
Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors.
Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in,
nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall.
You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter,
the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants!
The dispenser for the modern "seat covers"
(invented by someone's Mom, no doubt)
is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse
on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't -
so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck,
(Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!),
yank down your pants, and assume " The Stance."
In this position your aging, toneless
(God I should have gone to the gym!!!) thigh muscles begin to shake.
You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time
to wipe the seator lay toilet paper on it, so you hold
"The Stance". To take your mind off your trembling thighs,
you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet
paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear
your mother's voice saying,
"Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat,
you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!
 “Your thighs shake more.
You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday
-the one that's still in your purse.
(Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now,
you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time).
That will have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible.
It's still smaller than your thumbnail.
Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work.
The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck
in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward
against the tank of the toilet. "Occupied!" you scream,
as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny,
crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor,
lose your footing altogether,
and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT.
It is wet of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well
 that it's too late.
Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ
and life form on the uncovered seat because
YOU never laid down toilet paper
-not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try.
You know that your mother would be utterly appalled
if she knew,  because, you're certain her
bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because,
 frankly, dear,
"You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get".
By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet
is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of
water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl
that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt
and runs down your legs and into your shoes.
The flush somehow sucks everything down with
such force that you  grab onto the empty toilet paper
dispenser for fear of being dragged in too
At this point, you give up.. You're soaked by the
spewing water and the wet toilet seat.
You're e-x-h-a-u-s-t-e-d.
You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found
in your pocketand then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks.
You can't figure out how to operate the faucets
with the automatic sensors,
.....so you wipe your hands with spit and a
dry paper towel
and walk past the line of women still waiting.
You are no longer able to smile politely to them.
A kind soul at the very end of the line points out
a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe.
(Where was that when you NEEDED it??)
You yank the paper from your shoe,
plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly,
"Here, you just might need this".
As you exit, you spot your hubby,
who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom.
 Annoyed, he asks,
“What took you so long and why is
your purse hanging around your neck?"

This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a
public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!).
It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long.
It also answers their other commonly asked questions
about why women go to the restroom in pairs.
It’s so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse,
and hand you Kleenex under the door!
A friend Is Like A Good Bra... Hard to find...
 Supportive....
Comfortable ... Always Lifts You Up...
Never Lets You Down, or Leaves You Hanging,
And Is Always Close To Your Heart!!!

Holy Smokes!!  I can not believe it has been such a long time since I have posted anything. I guess time just flies by and then we wonder what happened to all that free time we though we had. I know I start each morning out with my to do list and then somehow the list gets lost, and by the time I find it again, I have done a thousand things but not one of them was on my list. Humm, maybe it's time to do away with the list, or find a way to attach it to my forehead so it can always be found!
I had mentioned a couple of times in the chat that it might be fun to have those that are interested, make up some little thank you cards, sign them on the back (and add your location too), and send them off to me to include in our orders. It would be kinda like a swap, except, there is no set number, and you would get different ones back when you placed an order.  If your interested in doing this then e mail me and I will get you the address to send them to. Most of the cards I send out are about 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and I do have a ton of envelopes for them if you want to send them with out. You can make them any size you want as long as they are not full size cards, as I would run out of things to write in them !!  I have had three people send cards to me already,
so when you get your order,  look on the card and see who they are from!! My e mail is scrapadabadoo@comcast.net.

We have now gotten in the last order that we will ever place with Memory Box.
Barrie and I have made a business decision to no longer carry their product in the store once the current inventory is depleted. We have come to this decision due to the fact that we take pride in our customer service, and hold the manufactures we order from to that same level of excellence. When a company continues to treat you like they are doing you a favor by taking your money, are unwilling to answer questions with out treating you like you are stupid, and belittle you each time you place an order for one reason or another, then it is time to call it quits. Our money is better spent with a manufacture, such as Cottage Cutz, who is not only willing to design dies around the ideas that Barrie has, but is also willing to bend over backwards to make sure we are taken care of.  I know this will be a huge relief to Barrie, as she has been the one to take the brunt of it and it makes her ill to have to deal with them. I can imagine how many of you would have dumped us if we were to have that kind of service !!

Anyway, just thought should know, so that if there were any of their dies you were wanting to get, now would be the time to do it before they are gone from the store for good.
Hope you all have a great week and that you find your self with ink on your fingers,
and glue on everything else !!
Blessings Carol

Instructions For Margaret Ann's Wee Book For Holding Our Thank You cards

A few weeks back I posted pictures of a darling little mini that Margaret Ann (aka heavenlymam on the chat) made to hold and display all of the Thank You cards Carol makes and puts in every order that goes out.. This little book is fast and easy ...and you can make four pages at once by folding 1 sheet of paper. The pockets are the perfect size to hold one of our little Thank You cards.
Margaret Ann uses a A4 size paper in her instructions A4 = 8.25 x11.75. I used standard 8.5 x 11 and eliminated the fold at the top and it turned out nicely as well

I will post the instructions from Margaret Ann below and after that I will show you pics of what I did and the slight changes to the instructions.

Have fun and let us see what you come up with....

Margaret Ann used an A4 size paper...double or single - sided
Score at 2 3/8" from each end (landscape)

Fold corners into just short of score line. Don't fold all the way to score line...leave a little room so
it will fold easily along score.

Fold flaps in and turn piece over

Fold up 1/4" from each end. You can score first for easier folding
Fold bottom edge up to top and insert corners into the little corner pockets

Fold in half ...L to R. She folded the side with the corner pockets to the inside.  It makes 4 side with 1pocket each
Make as you need , punch holes with Crop-a-dile and tie with ribbon .

I made this one with double sided paper cut to 8.5 x 11"
I followed the first two steps but omitted the 1/4" fold on each end and put Scor Tape along the top and side edges on one of the back sides...one of the kittens helped.
I folded the bottom up and then folded L to R **Fold first then carefully remove the tape backing from top first-starting at center crease. Keeping piece folded...slowly ease pieces together as you remove the backing. This will allow paper to shift as you are folding and it will lay flat. This step is a little tricky but do not stick it together before you fold it. If you do you will have a lot of bulk in the middle that won't lay flat and neatly.
As you can see I eliminated the top 1/4" fold. I used a double-sided paper that is thicker than the single sided that Margaret Ann used  and it made the 1/4" fold and corner pockets very bulky and uneven looking. It works great with thinner papers. I would not recommend heavy cardstock.
Give Margaret Ann a big THANKS for this easy to make, nifty little book that, as you can see, holds our Thank You cards perfectly. AND...a BIG HUG to Carol for sharing her talent (and love) with us all.

Try this quick and easy project and send us a picture of yours. You could make a cute mini for someone in an hour. Put a few favorite picture or mementos and someone will love you for it.

Have fun,
Barrie & Carol
(& Masquette the kitty)

National Scrapbook Day Fun

As most scrappers and paper crafters know ...today is a big day in the industry. Lots of sales ...lots of projects and most of all...lots of fun!

Along with both shows today...Laura from "Follow The Paper Trail" and Kathryn of "The Scrapbeach". You can click on their highlighted titles here and go directly to their blogs to get show times and links to the UStream shows. Laura will start at 10am PDT and Kath will follow right after at 12noon PDT and go until about 5pm. So it will be a whole day of paper, ink and adhesives. Please join us!

Also for the day's celebration we at Scrapadabadoo have put some special products on sale for you all to take advantage of. This is not clearance merchandise...it is all current and popular stuff that we thought you might enjoy. So come on in and snoop around. To see the day's specials ...go to the first category on the left side in the store marked  "NSD Specials".

In other news...we have the first shipment of the new Limited Edition Spring Inks coming in on Monday. We also have the reinkers for these sets plus the Fall and Winter sets as well. So grab the reinkers while they are available. You never know what Ranger is thinking so I wouldn't trust them to keep the reinkers around.
As far as the Markers...well...we have them and that is all I have to say on that subject!
Many of you have been asking for Charm Packs. I will try to get those up for you this week. I will also have a new pack in about a month...so be careful what you ask for...hahaha!

Carol and I are very excited over the Tea Time dies that Joanne from Scrapping Cottage has put out. I worked with her to try and get the look I wanted to see in the tea sets and I think she and her crew did a marvelous job. All the other "tea sets" available looked the same. I asked her if she could make it more classy and elegant...I think they did just that! And as soon as those dies came out...BoBunny released their mid-season collections and the "Little Miss" line couldn't go better with these dies...so hang on and see what one or both of our beautiful and talented show hosts do with some of these! We can't wait!

So many of you wonderful ladies ( and gents) send us such lovely comments about the little "Thank You" cards that Carol makes to put in every package that goes out from the store. A few of you have even made little minis to hold the cards. Well Margaret Ann aka "heavenlymam" on the show chat has an adorable little book that holds the cards. Margaret Ann says that one sheet of A4 paper will make 4 pockets and in her book she has made 20 pockets...just shows how much she orders from us!!!

I promise I will post the instructions as soon as I figure out how to convert the file that was sent to us.
I will try to do that this weekend...I'm afraid Carol will have to help me with this one. I get a little lost when it comes to posting some of the things customers send us. So check back and get the instructions.

Well...I am off to bed. Laura will be calling to get my butt in gear way before I am ready in the morning!! We hope to see lots of you tomorrow and for those of you that can't make it to the shows...they will be recorded so you can watch later...BUT...the NSD Specials in the store are only good till they run out or till the end of National Scrapbook Day. So don't miss out.

'nite all,
Barrie & Carol

Back to Scrapbooking

Hello all ! One of the things that I promised myself that I would do this year is get back to doing my Page Layouts and getting some regular scrapbooking done. With all the paper collections that we get, I am sure that like me, you have papers, and stickers and things left over, and there is nothing better to do with them than to create a lay out. I love all of the BoBunny papers so I have done few layouts with them and today I start with the Country Garden Paper.

Starting with a blue background card stock, I then took one of the patterned Papers and cut it in half from corner to corner, and punched the edges with a Martha Stewart Punch. All of the Edges of the papers are inked with Spiced Marmalade.  The Butterfly is the Selena Butterfly & Maribelle Butterfly from Memory Box. I added glossy accents to it and then sprinkled glitter on it while it was wet. The photo mats are backed with orange card stock, then a couple flowers colored with glimmer mist, the word friends from the collection stickers, a couple of flourish rub ons and a post card element that I had from K&Company.
A Very simple and fast layout !!!
Thanks for looking
Carol

A Topic of Conversation - Exhausted!

By now I think most of us have lost the excitement over the Distress Markers. I know I am tired of hearing the excuses...not to mention  giving each of you a disappointing answer every time you ask about the pesky little things. We can't begin to tell all of you how much we appreciate your patience and understanding in this aggrevating situation...
One of our lovely and talented ladies decided to turn her frustration to creativity and I could not wait to post this for you to read...I think she deserves a huge hug for sharing her true feelings with us.

This was sent to us the other day after Susan Romick emailed and asked if we had any word on the markers. She well understood our frustration and use her energy for something so creative. I hope it helps ease some of your frustration with a giggle!  ENJOY!
Sue wrote...
What can we, the consumers, do to help you and let Ranger know how we feel?

Maybe I should send them my top ten list of effects of the Ranger Distress Marker shortage.

1. I have gained 10 pounds with the extra food money not spent on Ranger Distress Markers

2. I have lost 10 pounds from constantly checking my mail to see if the Ranger Distress Markers have arrived

3. My grandchildren have learned to share their crayons

4. Even my scrapbooks look thinner in black

5. More money to spend on all things not Ranger

6. The Distress Marker mourning mask I have started wearing makes me look more like the Lone Ranger

7. I changed an item on my Christmas list of wants to read Ranger STinks

8. I have learned to meditate and redirect my rANGER

9. I have more time to do housework, THANKS RANGER!

10. Now I know why the are called DISTRESS markers

Bravo Sue!
