My life's journey by Wendy Kats

When going trough my design box I found this fun chipboard album and in a second I decided I was gong to make an album for myself for a change.

Until now I always made albums for my family, friends or my son but never one for just me. Last January I turned 40 and I realized I am basically halfway trough my life. With a smile on my face the title popped in my head and I'm proud to show you My life's Journey Part One.

It didn't take long for me to realize the rings that come with the album would be to small so I exchange them for some nice 2" rings to give it more breathing room.  The collection pack I used is from Echo Park and is called Reflections. This paper is just perfect for this project.

I have to say that there is no tutorial for the pages...why you might ask...well for me an album like this is a perfect way to just go with the flow and make it something really unique and personal. I love to make layered pockets and tags sticking out everywhere but not all people do. Some people like large mattes and flaps and that's why these chipboard albums are so much fun.

I even added a few pages simply by getting a piece of chipboard and cutting it to the size i want it to be.
When making these added pages I went nuts and even added covers so I could use the pages that had a tab for the fun idea of each ten years of my life per tab.

I covered each of the chipboard pages with a base color I got out of the cardstockpack that way the patterned paper would pop more. For the tags and pockets I used kraft cardstock cause I found it fitting perfectly with the rest of the paper line.

This collection has one of my favorite things I think gives some extra dimension to a page.....layered chipboard!!!! Next to brads and the normal chipboard pieces this is so much fun to work with.

This album is an album very close to my heart and when I am done adding the pictures of  the first 40 years of my life it will be priceless. I think every now and then you have  to be selfish and create something for yourself. I did with this album and i hope god will give me enough years to make a part two.

For now i say... stay safe scrap on and if you like...drop by my blog for more photo's of this project.

Hugs Wendy
