My Scrap Room Revealed !
We are not 100% finished, but far enough along that I can share some picutres of the Scraproom. My wonderful husband has been spending all of his nights and spare week ends to custom create this room for me based around my needs and suppies (mostly supplies)
We started with a blank slate
And even tore out the closet
For my die cutting area
He installed a wood floor and then
built some paper racks with shelves that pull out
He added some drawers and counter tops too !
During this time, this is what the other parts of my house looked like
Scrap supplies from one end to the other and we were afraid the neighbors were going
to turn us into the health department as horders
But the the storage started to come together and I was able to put some things away
A Place For Punches
Upper Shelving
Corner Shelving
More Paper Storage and shelves
And even a place for my Accucut and dies
(remeber the torn out closet?)
The only unfinished part, he has three more drawers and faces to finish
and then he can rest
My Clock, butterflies and Lace Birdcage, and the flower rack that Barrie sent to me.
This is the only
open wall for fun decorations.
So this wraps up the tour of my scrap room and I must say that I
do feel spoiled and blessed to have someone that loves me so much that
he would take the time to make me all of this. I hope you know that I am not
bragging, just excited to have a place to call my own.
Happy Scrappin !
Carol
Carol, I am sooooo happy for you! I can relate to how you feel about your hubby and your craft room. I can hardly wait until January to rip mine apart as I desperately need shelves and more counter work space. We bought the tile yesterday and I picked out the paint color. I will send you pics when it's done. Have a WONDERFUL time in your new creative space...btw I envy the die cut storage rack. LOL Ella aka cmella04
ReplyDeleteWow Carol that looks like an amazing and super inspiring craft room! I love it! Congrats on getting it completed and Good Job Hubby for all his hard work!
ReplyDeleteI know its a sin to be jealous or envious about someone, but I have to admit...I am. Don't get me wrong I am grateful for my Studio, and being on a budget, well I didn't get the kind of storage I would have loved to have. But thank the Lord I have what I have. This is awesome, I especially love your huge die cut machine, almost got one when Page in Progress was closing its door, but really did not have the room. Congratulations! I know some awesome projects are going to be created in there. Tell your wonderful Hubby he did GOOD! Thank you for sharing. Luv-n-Hugs!
ReplyDeleteStill wish you could pack that all away in a box for me, Pouty face on !!!! But if it couldn'ta been me, SO glad it was for you. Enjoy and the hubby made enough points to last the year, ....maybe...lol

Thank you for sharing with all of us and I have to agree...it does make me envious! You are so organized and know exactly what you have and anything you need - just get it from the store! Have fun crafting and I cannot wait to see what new inspirations that you will have to show us. Take care and enjoy that room and your hubby!

What a wonderful room.....I'm with freegbird.....if you get tired of it pack it up in a flat rte box and send it to Texas!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust love what your talented hubby has done for you....yee haw!!!!
Your room looks so organized and ready for scrapping! Hubby should be proud of all that beautiful work he did. One thing I added to my scrap room that made immediate impact was a large covered container (14"x10") that I filled with legal manilla folders. I painted the tabs with basic colors and folded the bottom of the folders up to form loose pockets then put them all inside. Next I sorted all my paper scraps into the basic colors and put them in. Now it is by my feet and I use it so many times everyday to get the right shade of some color to add a little something to my projects. I have begun making cards using leftover minibook stuff and it is paying off big time! Next I need some organizer for leftover embellishments like bits of ribbon and single blooms since card making is really becoming addictive trying to use up all my scraps. Mary Werner

Hi,
ReplyDeleteYou are truly a fortunate lady with all that awesome space. A place for everything and everything in it's place. Very nice!
WOW Carol!!! You are so lucky to have a handyman hubby. Mine is useless when it comes to tools. My room is a 16x24 bonus room but the walls are just 5 foot high and then the ceiling starts the slope to the center of the room. So all my stuff is low and spread out, not within arms reach of my desk. I do love your floors and paper storage area. I think paper and punches are my weakness. I would love to have all those paper shelves. Enjoy your room...you deserve it!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I love your lace birdcage. I think you are going to enjoy your room, I enjoy mine. Love the way u have your punches stored. Great idea. I have seen some that are made with rods from IKEA. Just think of all the fab hours u will spend creating designs. Thanks for the beginning to end pictures. That was fun. Lanna
