Journal using Eileen Hull's Journal Die By Sizzix

The other day we got the new Eileen Hull  Journal Die in and I could not wait to play with it.

Eileen Hull Journal small

This is a Bigz XL die and can be used with chipboard, acrylic, Kraft Tex and other thick material.  I chose to cut one out of Chipboard which I had covered with paper on both sides  prior to cutting it out. I used the Blue Fern Studios Happy Accident paper for both the covers and the insert covers.

The Journal is easy to assemble and there are many ways to add the inserts. I chose to use one Piece of Elastic for the main insert, and then used a rubber band to add the two other inserts, as I had seen done by Ashliegh Hepinstall on one of the videos she has done.

Run a length of Elastic through the middle holes on the journal and tie in the middle

Wrap a large rubber band through the middle of  first and third insert and place into the journal

Pull up the Elastic through the center of the two inserts

and then add the center insert through the piece of elastic.

The inserts are made with 12 sheets of copy paper cut to 7 5/8” tall and 8 1/8” wide. I used the WRMK Magnetic Stapler to staple them all together in the middle . I was amazed at how this little tool went thorough all 13 layers like butter…

I also used the WRMK Tab Punch board to make tabs on the decorative paper for the insert covers. I love how they look on the outside of the journal and gives me tabs to separate the sections

I decorated the cover with one of the Fabscraps Ladies With Parasols Chipboard, Two of the Chipboard pieces that come in the Happy Accident Collection, one of the flowers from 49 & Market and finished it off with pearls from Want 2 Scrap.

I did color the Ladies with colored pencils and highlighted some of the areas with the Clear Wink Of Stella Pens.

All in all this was a pretty quick project to do and now I can start working on the inside pages..

Thanks for taking a look and hope you have enjoyed seeing this as much as I enjoyed making it..
