What a Great Show

We just finished with the U Stream Show with Laura at Following the Paper Trail and it was amazing !!!
We had over 2000 people signed in at one time and Tim Holtz even popped in to say hello. Laura gave away some amazing prizes including the Vagabond die cutting Machine, and she was even able to do with while Tim was on the chat with us. Barrie and I were able to give away 100 prizes, some big some little but all of them were give with love !!!  We had over 1000 people sign up for the give aways, and we took all the names and put them into random imager and had them pick the number of names that we had prizes for, as that just seemed easier than having 1000 + little pieces of papers in a basket ! We hope you all had as good of time as we did. We are blessed to have so many wonderful customers, that are also our friends too !!! I can not wait to see what happens in the New Year, and if the last year was any indication then we are going to love love love it.
We will post the winners names here on the blog sometime tomorrow and if we do not have your mailing address we will notify you and have you send that to us. Congratulations to all those who won.
A special thank you to Joy, who keeps us going and takes care of so many things all the time. We love you and could not do this with out you !!! You are a true blessing !
Once again, Happy New Year to each of you and my your year be filled with blessings of every shape and size !!! Love to all Carol & Barrie

To Give...

This is the time of year for giving. Everyone bustling about...searching for just the right gift for Aunt Jane or cousin Bob. Christmastime has become so commercial over the years and It has become more of a "chore" and an obligation. Over the last four or five years I have really changed my buying habits because of the terrible economic downturn and I am sure it has been the same for many people. We simply don't have the extra money to spend on gifts for everyone...especially those obligatory gifts for relatives we only see once a year and hardly know. You wind up buying something...anything so you aren't empty-handed at the family gathering. Many of us are now making gifts for family and friends. paper crafting has gotten so sophisticated...so intricate...so beautiful ...that giving a handmade gift these days is really something to be cherished. I know Carol made about fifteen or so...little Post-It notebooks for all the girls/ladies in her family. Not only were they absolutely adorable but they were a useful gift that every recipient will cherish and use for a long time. And she is proud to show and give the beautiful things she has made...not bought. In each little notebook was a piece of herself...a little piece of her heart....so much better that a cheese log from the mall.

Every year for the last decade or so I have participated in a program called the "LoKahi Tree"  It is a program sponsored and run by the Salvation Army where you volunteer to make Christmas happen for a family that just can't afford gifts for their children . I have always drawn a family with two kids and I have enjoyed buying all kinds of (useful) gifts for them to open on Christmas morning. Although they mainly need clothes and shoes I would always try to give that one special gift that would make their eyes light up on Christmas morning. The boys usually wanted boogie boards or skateboards and the girls wanted clothes and MP-3 players and download cards. Then for the parents...really the whole family ...I would load them up with groceries so they would have a Holiday Feast. I used to go all out for my elected families and the feeling I would get from doing all this was the most wonderful , warm and deeply fulfilling feeling I have ever experienced. The feeling of making someone else happy...of making someone else's day a little brighter. These last few years have been hard on me and everyone around me and even though I can't afford to do things like I used to I still manage to participate in the "LoKahi Tree" . I have come to the realization that I do this as much for the families as I do for myself. I always find if I am feeling down or sad or overwhelmed...the greatest cure is to reach out and do something nice for someone else.

I hope all of you will take the time to give to others this Holiday Season. As scrappers we are naturally givers ...it is a quality deep within us...So reach out to someone. .. you might really be surprised at the difference such  a small gesture can make in another person's life ...and in yours....After all...to "give" is really to receive....

Have a happy and safe Holiday filled with the Love and Joy of family and good friends  ...

Love to you all ,
Barrie & Carol

Merry Christmas

We just wanted to take a minute and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We have so enjoyed this past year, growing sharing and getting to know you. We know that 2011 is going to be even more promising, and we owe all we are to you !! Blessings to you and your family this Christmas Season

We are getting Closer !!

We are so close to hitting the 200 followers on our blog and we can not wait to hit that magic number and send one of you a Distezz-it-All !!! We are blessed to be one of your blog buddies and I am going to make it a priority to make sure we do more on the blog in the new year. The last half of this year has been an adjustment period for both Barrie and I. We have teamed up with Following The Paper Trail and in that time our business has exploded and for this we are so very thankful. We are almost transitioned over to having all of the products in one place so that we are able to ship everything in one package, but there are still a few things that Barrie will be sending until her inventory is depleted and we have it all here in Washington. We love being able to send a personal touch with each order. and from the comments we have gotten, you all seem to like it too. We will continue to do that no matter how busy we get. That is who we are and just what we do.
We have also finalized our arrangements for attending CHA in January and we are all so excited. Laura, Barrie And I will be on the hunt for all the great new products that will be there. We will be doing daily updates while we are there, and I do believe that Laura is planning on doing some kind of show from there too. There is always so much to see, make and takes to do, and new companies to discover !! I think I just may go and pack my bags now.
I have been working on a few more Christmas gifts and for my Oldest son I have made him a canvas that has pictures of him and his kids out hiking and fishing. He took them to the place that we always went camping when he and his brother were young. I think he will like it, although it is simple and not too ornate

I used a large canvas, sprayed it with Several of the Perfect Pearls mists (hard to see that) and then inked the edges with Ranger Distress ink, I backed the photos, which are printed out on Bazzill Paper&  inked the edges with distress ink , onto black chipboard to give it some dimension, and then sprayed the chipboard letters with Perfect Pearls mist and inked those edges as well. The Trees are a Sizzix die cut, and they are sprayed with Glimmer Mist and Maya Mist, and then covered with crackle paint.  The stick is one that they brought back from their hike and it is attached using hot melt glue. I think it looks very rustic and fits the pictures too !!
So, that is another one of my Christmas Projects and I can not wait for him to open it !!
We hope you are all doing well and that your taking time to enjoy the magic of the Christmas Season
Blessings to you all

Enjoying Your Notes

We are so happy and amazed at the number of people that have signed up for our New Years Eve Give Away so far. We love reading your comments and know, that each and every one of them have made us smile. We are also seeing that there are a ton of very generous people in our group and we want to thank you for your offers of donating items for the give away, but we have this planned as our way of saying thank you all for your love and support of Following The Paper Trail and Scrapadabadoo. We will try to plan things later in the year that we can take you all up on your wonderful offers. Believe us when we say thank you. We are also only 41 people away from our 200 followers on our blog and I am not sure if some of you know this, but we will be giving one of you a Distrezz-it-All when we hit that magic number. We would also love it if you would add our blinking to your blog, share us with your family and friends and make sure you leave some comments along the way !! There is a post earlier in the year as to how you can get your name added more than once, so look back to August under the title of Our new look and find out how you can get your name in more than once too !!
We are seeing that our new chipboard die cuts are flying out the door so you must be liking them. We have a ton of the sizzix dies available to us, so if there are other shapes you would like to see us do please just let us know. We can do special orders on them as well if you are doing a project and need several of them, just let us know what you want and we will get you a price and the cost of shipping on it.
Are any of you following the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas again this year. I am always so amazed at his creativity and how he can make things come to life. I never in my life would have used the rickety house into a Christmas project, or used the branches on the tree for the reindeer antlers. Talk about getting me thinking out side of my box.
I have made another Kaiser Craft Box for my Daughter in law for Christmas, and I am thinking that she is going to be so happy. She seems to have a need to touch mine and open the drawers every time she comes over, and so, she will have her own that looks pretty much the same as mine does. I did make the flowers using the Tim Holtz Grunge Rose out of canvas and they turned out wonderfully !!! Here is what it looks like

We have a couple of these drawers left in the store, and they are so fun to make !!
Well it's late and I have a couple of Grand Kids here that will be getting up earlier than I would like them to. So Blessings to you and hope you're all having fun making something special !!
Blessings Carol

Scrap IN the New Year!!!

Now that Thanksgiving has passed we start getting ready for Christmas and saying good-bye to a very grueling 2010. I don't know about the rest of you but I am anxious for a new chapter...a new year...a fresh start. 2010 has been a tough year for me and for Carol and we are looking forward to what this new year has to offer. Things seem to be turning around slowly. Of course it will take a while for the West Coast to feel some relief...but knowing it's coming offers some much needed hope.
On to the good stuff....
Some of you have heard Laura and us talking about having a New Year's Eve Party on the Friday nite show. Well...we are gearing up to scrap the nite away. She may even go three hours ...depending on the attendance....so mark your calendars and grab you paper, tools and snax...and get ready for a wild night!!! We want to give all of you ...our faithful followers a special treat...a night just for you. We have the greatest group of ladies (and a few gents). We are so very grateful for each and every one of you. So ...Laura, Carol and I have been scheming and planning a night full of projects and prizes. There will be tons of give-aways...and these will all be really cool items. Laura will be giving away some of "Laura's Favorite Things"...you know...those items you see sitting on her desk show.. after show...after show. We will be dropping hints... And Carol and I will be giving away lots of your favorite things...like a Pink ATG and some "Timmy stuff" just to mention a few There will be some more hints in the days to come so keep checking here and Laura's blog...(her link is on the sidebar)...to see what some of the other prizes will be and how you will have to enter to participate in drawings.

We were trying to figure a way for everyone to participate in the fun...so we are going to have everybody sign up to put your name on the master list ...just for that night. We will pick names randomly from that list only....so if you don't sign up ...you won't be included. This way you won't need to be on the show to win. You won't need to be on the chat to win. We will include our International ladies (and gents...Steven)Hopefully this way will keep the chat sane that nite...hahaha!!!...and give everyone a chance to win something AWESOME!  There will be full details posted on both blogs sometime this weekend and Laura will talk about it on the show Friday (tomorrow) night...So lets have some FUN!!!!

A little shop talk....the Rosette Ribbon will be back in next week and the G45 Once Upon A Springtime will be in today!! Yipee....You all cleaned us out in 24 hrs!!! I think we set a record!!! Anyway ...we now have plenty...Also...the punches Laura will be using tonight are in the store now.

We need your projects for the Customer Spotlight so send us you pictures so we can feature you in the Newsletter. Also ...if you have a favorite holiday recipe...send it to Carol so she can add that to the Newsletter too. We have some recipes already but we are looking for something really WOW!!! Something everyone will want to make for their holiday guests.

As I have said before...I don't post often...but when I do it is usually something really good!!!  Check back over the weekend and we will have all the details posted for the drawings...

Nite All,
  Hugs,
    Barrie

Oh No Snow !!!!

Yesterday it began to snow in the morning and was still going at 9pm last night. We only ended up with a little over 2" but it was enough for the Grand kids to go out and play in. They had a blast and came in freezing !!! Of course today all schools are closed, and I think it is wise as the main roads get sanded but the back roads are not, and even with them sanding it is still ugly! It took my Hubie over 3 hours to drive home last night, a trip that normally takes him 1 hour at the most. Today we are at 13 degrees so all that snow is now ice. Sounds like a great day to get started on my Christmas cards & maybe I can get the grand kids to help me, or I am sure I can find something crafty for them to do.

I have been busy adding some great products to the store and you can find them under the what's new category. The two new charm packs are so adorable, and the fairy pack will go great with the mini that Laura Denison is going to be making. We also have the Making Memories Noel Christmas Papers in and they are wonderful. We will also be adding some more Graphic 45 Christmas Past paper packs later today, but this will be all we will be able to get, as they are not making any more and they are pretty well sold out of it.
We hope you have a great Thanksgiving and if you get a chance be sure to stop in on Friday night for another great Laura Denison Show.. You can log into her ustream channel right here on the blog.. just click on her picture. See you then !!!

Busy Busy Busy

Things have been so busy that I have hardly had a chance to even think about updating the blog, which is shame shame shame on me. Scrapadabadoo is growing by leaps and bounds and we are so delighted. We have had a great response to our store news letter, and I hope you all have signed up to receive it. We are always on the prowl for people to submit their projects for our Customer Spotlight, so if you have a project that you would like to share with us please let us know as we would love to show your work and inspire all of our followers.  We also are looking for tips and techniques, recipes and if you would like to see or write a product review we would love that too !!
I am almost finished with some of my little gifts that I give to the girls of the family and I have had a lot of fun putting them together. I started with the Memo holder cut from chipboard, then covered with different pattern papers. I then added rub ons for the word notes on each one, added a flower and bling, then a simple ribbon handle. I found the post it notes at Costco and they had a big package for about $16 and I had more than enough for the 15 of these that I made. I think the ladies will love them !!

Have you started your Christmas Crafts, Cards, or gifts ?? We would love to see what your doing and when it comes time for decorating, we would enjoy seeing that too. I guess it is about time to let the season begin.
Hope your week is going well !!!
Blessings Carol

Happy Sunday !!

Today is one of those stay at home kind of days, as it is pouring down rain, the wind is blowing, and it is just plain icky outside. We really have had some nice fall weather for the last couple of weeks, but as one of my friends said, well the rain is coming and now it will be here till July. Well that's just Washington State for ya!
I am going to be working on getting some cards made, thank you cards that we send out with our orders. I can not seem to keep up with them, which is a really good thing. I would really like to also get started on a few of my Christmas gifts too because there is only 61 days left before it is here. Yikes!!
Speaking of Christmas, we just got in a few of the Sizzix & Tim Holtz Christmas dies, reindeer, snowflakes, ornaments and a couple of the on the edge dies. There is also some of the Sizzix Christmas embossing folders too, that will make beautiful backgrounds for your Christmas cards. The K&Co Christmas papers are so beautiful as are the Kaiser Craft ones and the Cosmo Cricket and Memory Box..... oh so many to choose from !!! We have so many new things in the store and we also now have a clearance category where you can get some great prices on things.

If you are a follower of Following The Paper Trail, Laura has moved her show from last Friday to this Wednesday due to her daughter having been in the hospital. If you have not had the pleasure of watching Laura you should really check her out as she does some amazing things. We have a link to her Ustream channel on the blog and you can watch the older shows and then join her this Wednesday live!!!
Well, better get moving as the days go by so fast that I end up not getting done the things that I want to do.
Blessings to you all !! Carol & Barrie

Great Gift Ideas !!

When we went to CHA last year, one of the make and take projects was this wood memo board.
We fell in love with it as there were so many possibilities for it. You can paint the wood frame, stain it, spray it, stamp it and more. The Insert is a write on wipe off board that is also magnetic !!
We put some kits together for a quick way for you to make a gift, or keep it for yourself. The kits include
The Memo Board, The Insert (12"x 12"), Several Petaloo Color Me Crazy Flowers of different sizes, Black and White Lace, Black and white sheer ribbon, 4 magnets, 4 white glitter dots, 4 black glitter dots, and a Vial of Glitter. You can decorate the insert with paper on part of it, or leave it all blank. The possibilities are endless. The board is double sided, so you can decorate both sides too !! The one on the left is the board I created to match my kitchen and I love having a place to write reminder notes to myself !!

We also have a few of the Lush Kits left and they are now on SALE!!  These kits are packed full of great things and The Flocked Mini Album is included !! You get papers, die cuts, rub on's, brads, flowers, crystals (real ones) lace, ribbon and so much more !!

Visit our website for these items and so much more.

Happy October !!

September is gone and I am not sure how it zipped by so quickly. We had such a busy month with the store and have been doing some rearranging and making more room for more product. Barrie continues to find the best things and I am always amazed at the beauty of the papers and products that arrive. We have so many new things in and some of my favorite things are: the new Punky Sprouts Books as they look like so much fun to create with. The Three new ones we have added are the Junk In my Trunk, Spunky Sprout & the Sweetie Sprout. These books are made in the USA and have so many fun pages. We love to support the smaller companies, and this one is a great one !! You can get some great ideas from their gallery at www.punkysprouts.com

Junk In My Trunk : 3 Cardboard Pages, 1 scalloped chipboard page, 1 double acrylic tag page, and 1 canvas page
Spunky Sprout : 2 cardboard covers, 2 canvas pages, 1 split chipboard tag page, 1 acrylic page

Sweetie Sprout : 2 acrylic covers, 2 canvas pages, 1 chipboard pages.
These books are made so you can also add pages to them, and boy are they fun to use.

All the new punches are amazing. We have several new Martha Stewart Christmas Punches including snowflakes, holly, and a beautiful wreath, and lots of new EK Success punches, including Robots, Binding Edge, Butterfly Chain, Palm, Bat Flourish, Snowflake Edge Punch, Morocco Lace, Medallion Chain, and the Leaf Edge Punch,

We are also starting to see some of the New Tim Holtz Items come in and so far we have the Baubles and the Charm Clips. I must say I do love the Baubles and the charm clips are going to be great.

Sweet !!!

We are continually looking for some of you to submit your work to us so we can use it in our news letter for our customer spotlight. All you need to do is send us about 3 pictures of your creation, with a brief list of products used (the more you got from us the better) and we would love a short bio about you the artist!! Send your submissions to scrapadabadoo@comcast.net . We also want your tips and techniques and if you have a favorite recipe we have a place for that too!!!
Hope you all have a great week and that you find time to get your scrap on !!!

FINALLY!!! They Are Here!!!

After being out of stock since April...the Tim Holtz "Tattered Florals" they have arrived. They are available in our store in limited quantities...so if you want one... you'd better get it now!  The same goes for the "Tattered Leaves". Those too, are in limited supply and when they run out...they will be difficult to get. Sizzix has said they will have more after the first of the year...but with the difficulty they have had with the manufacturer this may not be the case.

Great Job Carol!!

I just want to thank Carol for the wonderful job she did producing our first Newsletter! I think she did an outstanding job and I look forward to the next one.
For those you who have signed up...thanks! And for those who haven't...well hurry up...there are going to be some really fun things in the issues to come .."Tips 'n Tricks"...."Customer Spotlight" (this could be you )...Favorite Recipes ...and of course...lots of  "What's New". And in each issue we will give you hints of what Laura (Follow The Paper Trail) has coming up. You don't want to miss any of the fall line up.

Thanks again Carol...you are a woman of many talents...

Good nite all,
       Barrie

All The Beautiful New Punches

Ok...I admit it! I am a punch-a holic! I love punches. They just keep making more and more beautiful and detailed punches. First... Martha Stewart started off with her frilly, loopy, swirly, lacy border punches. Then they added in the corners for the punch around the page look. When those first came out they never included the dimensions needed to make the punch designs work properly for an all around border. So ...finally they put the measurements on the website and eventually included them in each package....yay!!!

Now there is another problem. With all the new intricate designs  they really don't make very clear...that on these type punches...they are NOT meant for cardstock!!! They should never be used for Bazzill cardstock...or anything heavier than 65#, light weight cardstock or text weight paper. You can use up to 100# text weight paper. If your punch doesn't willingly cut thru your paper... then DO NOT force it. You will break your punch.. Test your punch on a scrap of the same weight before you try to punch your piece because you will make a mess of the piece of paper that doesn't cut and you will probably have to tear it out of the punch..

The bigger design punches and all your basic shapes ones are fine for heavier  paper and cardstock. Those will punch all day long and those are fine to use with the Punch Pal or any such helper. But never use any helper device with the new detailed punches. This goes for any manufacturer's punches...not just Martha's.

I have wanted to post this hint for a while now and I was prompted when a customer emailed me to say that she had broken her punch. I thought I better put this up now so no one else ruins a very expensive punch. If anyone has a question or needs more info ...please email us. We will be glad to help you with this or any other questions you might have. After all...it is our many years of experience that has taught us many helpful hints and tips...so feel free to pick our brains.

Have a fabulous week

New Dies Have Arrived

Have you been wanting some of the new Sizzix Dies by Tim Holtz ? Well we just got a partial shipment of our order and have added them to the website but you better hurry in as Ruth is buying them up faster than I can get them listed.... We did get plenty of the Paper Rosette Border Die,

 and the Tattered Leaves

Of course we got a few of the Halloween dies, but not as many as we had hoped to

and only one of the on the edge dies arrived

but we did get in  several of the Embossing folders and those are very nice !

We have had some issues with our shipping and we apologize if it has been confusing for you.
We do not add shipping to the orders simply for the fact that we were having to refund so many shipping fees that it was just easier for us to bill the shipping fees after the order was pulled, packed and we knew what the shipping was going to be. We do send a second invoice from our Pay Pal, and if by chance you do not see that invoice within a couple of days, please check your junk e-mail or your pay pal account to see if it is there. We really do try to ship the best way possible and when possible  we try to use flat rate boxes and envelopes. We are finding that this may not be the best way to ship our papers and chipboard as some of them have been getting damaged along the way (Thank you USPS)  We may have to charge a bit more in shipping for these items, but we would much rather have them arrive in one piece and with all the corners in tact !!
We are working on a news letter which may be a better way to stay in touch, so if your interested in getting our news, you can either sign up here on the blog or you can find it in the store at the bottom of the front page.
Once again, we appreciate each and everyone of you and thank you for all you do !!
Blessings

Prima Flora Fairy Papers & More

Our order arrived yesterday and I had to work really hard to keep myself from ruining the new Prima Floral Fairy papers with my drool !! The colors and designs on these papers is so much better in person then they are in a picture. I know we did not order half enough of this and are going to have to do what ever it takes to bring more of it in.

These are just a couple of the 6 designs and all the others are just as beautiful.
I am always so amazed at the new designs that companies come up with, and this one will make you want to order two sets, on to work with and one to hoard !!
We also ordered in some of the Websters pages Bloomers Flower Trim and they are crazy beautiful.
We have other colors on order but for now we have the Petal single color
and then the deluxe 5 colors. Each has one yard per color.
5 color deluxe set !

Petal Bloomers

We have other new items in the store so check it out and don't forget to join us tomorrow night for Laura's show.
It will be a one part show this week and I hear that this one is as fabulous as the rest !!

Welcome September!!

September has arrived and I must say I am not ready for the summer to be over. I am hoping for an Indian summer but after the down pouring of rain yesterday my hopes of that are fading fast.
So, my next best thing is to think of all the indoor projects that I want to do and get cracking on that.
I have a stack of pictures that need to be scrapped, a ton of cards that need to be made, and I really should get started on the gifts that I give to all the ladies in the family for (gulp) Christmas. I am going to be doing some different things this year as I need to use some of this great new stuff that has arrived over the last few months. Some of the new Sizzix dies are so fun and they have got my imagination flowing, and of course there is all the new K& Company papers that are so beautiful that I have a difficult time cutting into them, but I will I will !!
The store has been busier than ever and we are ordering like mad to get more great products in stock. We were excited to get the dauber boxes in, and they are compact and wonderful !! We are shipping out the new bone folders as fast as they arrive, and Barrie said we should probably just triple our order so that's what we shall do. It is so funny how long we have had the quickstik's in with out selling any and now that Laura has let people know their usefulness, we are seeing them fly out the door as well.
We have noticed that you all are discovering our great chipboard books too, and I must say they are great gift projects for (gulp) Christmas. Grandma & Grandpa would love to have this bestowed upon them with the cute faces of the grand babies on each and every page. They are made of acid free, medium weight chipboard and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

These books are so easy to cover and decorate and fun too!  I swear by the Pioneer Glue Stick to use for adhering your paper to the chipboard. As long as you make sure you glue your edges very good, your paper will never come off the chipboard when using it !! Give it a try and let me know if you like it !!
Well, enjoy your first day of September, and please join us for our challenge that was posted earlier in August. I have only a couple of people who have sent me pictures and One of the will be winning a Prima Paintable Paper Pack.... join us and it could be you !!!!

Random Act Of Kindness

I am so delighted as today I opened up a package of what I thought was product, only to find it was a goodie box from Traci, one of our first customers and followers of our blog and a lady that is always so sweet to us. She wrote me the most beautiful note on a hand made card and included several items in which she had made. One of the items that she made was a box that was sent to her as a gift for joining in on one of our challenges. She altered it using as many of the items that we sent her as she could, and boy is it beautiful. Thanks Traci !! You made my heart sing!!

Busy As Beavers!!

Sunday I was blessed to be able to meet Laura and her mom. We had some Steampunk papers for her, and since we were on our way south we decided to meet up and hand the paper off rather than shipping it.  We only had a few minutes to chat, which was not long enough, but at least now we have met, and yes she is as adorable in person as she is on Ustream!!!  I think Laura is also going to have the chance to meet up with Zelda (Joy) her wonderful moderator this week as well ! I hope they get pictures and post them hint hint..

We are so excited to be working with her, and getting to know her followers. I think Laura is excited to have a place to send her customers for the supplies that she uses, and she knows that customer service is our top priority for us too. We thank you all for your support.
Barrie has been very busy keeping up with all the ordering and finding the products that people have requested that we carry. She spends hours working on orders, finding the unusual items, working with the suppliers and all that it takes to make sure we are prepared for what is coming up in the next few weeks. I know she just put in a new order for some awesome new colors of envelopes and she did find the dauber containers and they are on their way too!! Barrie rocks and I love working with this lady with the heart of gold !!
I have been busy getting my dedicated Store/shipping room set up and that has been a process. This room started out to be my hubbies fishing room/man cave, but we have built him a shop and now he has a new place for all of his boy toys and I have a room for all of the store items and it is now organized and I am able to find things in a blink of an eye !!

We have so many new things on order,  and I do have room for it all !!
Keep an eye on the store for all the whats new items that will be added this week. We
have all the circle punches that Laura will be using in her Train Books on order and they should arrive today and tomorrow so they will be available in time for her show on Friday!!
We once again want to thank each and every one of you, you keep us going and we are truly blessed!!
Take care, and find some one who needs a smile and give them one of yours !!!

Summer is winding down

I know for most of you that the summer is winding down and you are all busy getting the kiddo's ready for or back into the swing of the new school year. It is a sad and happy time for all, and I can imagine the kids are getting excited to head back to school, but more for the ability to wear the new clothes and see their friends than to actually go to school.
We have no kids to get ready, but we are getting our store ready for all of the new projects that Laura at Following The Paper Trail is planning for the fall. We are going through a learning curve with this and with all of the orders that have come in, we of course have made a few errors, forgot to ship products, and even probably have sent some items to the wrong people. We of course work hard to make it all right and to make sure you are all happy with your items and that the order is correct. Please let us know how we are doing and let us know if you have received your order incomplete or if anything else is not right.
We are also working hard to make sure that the tools, papers and other items that Laura uses are able to be found in the store. We have found the bone folders, the non stick craft sheets, the Tim Holtz scissors, and other items that you all have asked us to carry and most all of them can be found in the store. We have also started to get the new Sizzix dies in and We really think you are going to love them.

We have the key and keyhole

The Butterfly

The Birds

The Flourish With Leaf
and my favorite

The fan !!!
Barrie has mine in transit to me, and I can hardly wait !!! We are looking forward to seeing the rest of them arrive, but Sizzix only releases so many at a time so we will have to be patient.
Make sure to keep your eye on the store as we have and will be adding more new items as we gear up for a great fall and winter !!
We love our customers and we hope you will join us in out challenge (altered notebook) and in our great give away !!!
Blessings to each of you, and we hope you have a day that is filled with love and laughter !!!

Check out our new look !!

We have been working with Bev over at In My Cedar Chest on our blog design and both Barrie and I think she nailed our vision of what we wanted to a T. This lady is amazing with her work and  we are so blessed to have her to do this kind of work for us. She probably wanted to reach through the Internet and yank on our hair a couple of times, but in the end she got us exactly what we wanted. She also creates blinkies, web pages, and she has a great selection of vintage images available for sale.
Visit her web site at http://www.inmycedarchest.com/ You will love her work.
So now that we have our blog just the way we want it, we are going to be doing a great give away... we want to hit 200 followers and when we do we will do a random drawing for the

Happy Tuesday Everyone

Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone as it seems that it has been so long since my last post. As some of you know, my hubbie and I have taken on refurbishing a duplex for a friend of ours. We did the lower unit at the beginning of the year and we are now working on the upper one, and this one is kicking our tails. We started working on it the first part of June, and are just now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It has taken up most all of my time and has kept me from getting much done in the way of crafting, and I am so dying to get back into my room and use some of the new stuff we have gotten in.
We have just ordered in the Graphic 45 Steam Punk papers, and we hope they have it in stock and will send it right away. We have been getting so many requests for it that we just had to track it down. I can not wait to see it up close and personal. If all goes well we could have it in the store by the end of the week!! Keep your fingers crossed. We also managed to find the great Teflon bone folder that so many of you have asked Laura about. We have contacted the company to order it, and we are just waiting for them to get back to us.

The envelopes are going like hot cakes and we are looking for more fabulous colors to add to the array... I just have to make an explosion box with them as I love love love it. If you have not yet seen the way that Laura makes them please visit her u-stream channel (the link is on the side bar) and you will be amazed at her work. Oh, you also have to see the Picnic Basket that she did. I need to make that one too !!
I have not yet started on my altered composition book, but it is also on my list of things to do. I hope you all are doing better with it because we can not wait to see your creations. Remember that we will be giving away a set of Prima Paintables to one person who joins us in our challenge !! Please e-mail us your pictures at scrapadabadoo@comcast.net so we can get them posted to the blog for everyone to enjoy.
Hope you all have a great Tuesday and that you find something today that will make your heart just a little bit happy !!!
Blessings
Carol

New Challenge & Give Away

I don't know about you, but when I am doing my grocery shopping at Fred Meyer, I always have to check out the craft supplies, and of course the seasonal stuff too. This time of year they are gearing up for back to school and I love all the new gadgets that they come out with. The colors of paper clips, the binder clips and so much more. I have a regular office supply store in with my craft supplies. Well, the deal of the day was that they had the composition books on sale for $.50 each with a coupon for buy one get one free....so that's 4 notebooks for $1.00.... I love these books and find that they make a great journal, a place to jot notes in when I am talking to Barrie, and the list goes on and on.
So... here is our challenge for the month of August. Use a composition book, or other blank notebook and alter the covers (front & Back)  to make a journal or something else that would be useful for you, or even your back to school kids. You can use any kind of paper, or embellishments, but, the only flowers you can use would be hand made ones.  With so many tutorials out there for different flowers, we would love to see you make your own. The book needs to have tabs for page dividers, and a pocket somewhere within the book. Other than those three things, the rest is up to you.
The deadline for this is August 31st and we will choose one person to receive a Prima Paintables  Paper Pack with other great goodies to go along with it.
We can't wait to see what you come up with, and I will be making mine this coming week and get a sample up for you too see. Have fun and we love having you play along with us.
Toodles Carol

PS: Laura just did a whole show on making flowers so just click on her picture and you can find her past shows on her U-Stream....

12x12 paper pad 8x8 paper pad
12x12 paper pad  Grungeboard
GrungepaperEnvelopes In Various Sizes

These are some of the new products we just added to the store !!
We love the Graphic 45 papers as they are so unique and can be used for so many things.
The Grungepaper, and Grungeboard are so fun to play with that you will wonder why you have not tried it before !!!
Check out all the other new products such as the Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper, More Tim Holtz
Idea-0logy items, punches, ant punchouts and so much more.
We are keeping our eyes out for all the great products that are being released this fall, and some of it has me drooling for sure !!!

We are working on finding a better shipping method for the store. As many of you know, that we have been refunding shipping when the amount you paid is larger than the actual shipping charges.
For now, we have removed shipping charges from the order, and will send you a separate invoice for the actual shipping fees once we know what the weight of the package is and where it is going.
We appreciate your understanding of this, as we only want you to pay for the true cost of shipping.
We ship the best and least expensive way possible using USPS.

We love our customers, our friends, and we appreciate each and every one of you !!!
